ALTERNATIVE SOURCES OF FUNDING

We regret that The Foundation's funds are limited, and we cannot afford to support every eligible funding request we receive. If we are not able to support you on this occasion, or if your organisation is not eligible to apply, we hope that you will find the information below helpful in planning your next steps.

  • Funds Online is a subscription only, online database that provides a wealth of information on almost 8,500 sources of funding for individuals and organisations from grant-making charities, companies, and statutory providers. Subscription fees are based on the charity’s income making them affordable. Funds Online now also offers a weekly subscription, as well as an annual one, providing flexibility for all budgets.

  • My Funding Central is a subscription only database with access to grants and social investment opportunities from local, national, and international funding sources. This service is available to organisations with an annual income below £1m and is free for organisations under £30k.

  • 360 Giving Register is a free database of 200+ UK funders that publish data about their grants to the 360Giving Data Standard. To search for a particular funder or type of grant, you can visit GrantNav.

  • UK Community Foundations is a membership organisation with a network of 47 community foundations across the UK. Please note that, while they work with organisations to distribute funding across our network, they do not directly award grants. To apply for funding, you need to contact your nearest community foundation which you can find searching on the UKCF website.

  • Postcode Local Trust supports smaller charities and good causes across the UK to make a difference to their community for the benefit of people and planet.

  • Charity Excellence Framework provides free fundraising health checks and an interactive dashboard connected to its information hub, including a Funding Finder listing grant makers, online funding lists & other grant directories.
