Neuro Therapy
Centre
An example of a charity providing disease-specific information, support, and education

The Neuro Therapy Centre in Saltney, Chester is a specialist charity providing year-round help to people with long-term neurological conditions and their Carers across North Wales, Cheshire, and the Wirral.
Since 1985, it has been “a lifeline for thousands of people living with neurological conditions”, and in 2025 marks 40 years of dedicated support and care. At its heart is a simple promise: “a place of care, friendship, advice and support in a positive, informal and happy environment.”
The Centre offers practical support and therapies to help manage the symptoms of a wide range of conditions, including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, motor neurone disease, ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, ataxia, and functional neurological disorder.
Expert healthcare professionals tailor physiotherapy, fitness and exercise programmes, alongside oxygen therapy, counselling, complementary therapies, aquatherapy, relaxation sessions and peer support, so that each person can better manage day‑to‑day life after diagnosis. A blended mix of face‑to‑face, outreach and virtual services means help is available even for those who are working, isolated, or unable to travel.
The Centre’s impact has grown significantly over time. Having started over 40 years ago supporting people with multiple sclerosis, it currently supports almost 700 people with a wide range of neurological conditions across north Wales, Cheshire and the Wirral at any one time. Service users describe it as “our lifeline for support, advice, and a reassuring place to belong.
Guided by its vision to help people “live their best neuro life” and belief in “a future after diagnosis”, the Neuro Therapy Centre continues to bridge the gap between hospital care and everyday living for people with neurological conditions and their families.
